Wishart responds to Perth recycling plant fire

Pete Wishart, MP for Perth and North Perthshire, has responded to news of a fire breaking out at a recycling plant near Friarton Bridge. His comments come whilst the M90 at Friarton Bridge remains shut and emergency services deal with the fire, which broke out at about 00:40 in the harbour area of Perth.

Commenting, Mr Wishart said:

“These reports are very concerning and I will be continuing to monitor the situation closely as matters progress.

“I would like to thank all of the emergency services who are working tirelessly at the scene to extinguish the blaze.”

“I very much hope that nobody has been hurt by this incident, and I urge everyone to stay away from the area for the time being.”
