Wishart commends Steve Brown on club’s success following resignation

Pete Wishart, MP for Perth and North Perthshire, has commended St Johnstone Football Club’s chairman, Steve Brown, on the club’s success following the announcement that he is stepping down from the role.

Commenting, Mr Wishart said:

“I am sorry to hear the news that Steve Brown will be stepping down as Chairman of St Johnstone. For over a decade, Steve has been a remarkable asset to the club, overseeing the winning of the first senior trophy in the club’s history in 2014 as well as the historic League Cup and Scottish Cup double in 2021.

“Following in his father’s footsteps, he has done a fantastic job of keeping the club on a prudent financial even keel, helping to secure the club’s future viability.

“I wish him all the very best and look forward to seeing what’s in store for the club as they enter this new era.”
