Wishart reminds constituents of ‘Warmer Homes Scotland’ Scheme
Pete Wishart, MP For Perth and North Perthshire, is reminding constituents of the Scottish Government’s Warmer Homes for Scotland Scheme as winter approaches. This follows a recent announcement from the Scottish Government regarding changes to the scheme’s eligibility criteria, which could make it available with an additional 110,000 households that are vulnerable to fuel poverty.
The scheme offers funding and support to households struggling to stay warm and keep on top of energy bills. The programme is accessed by contacting Home Energy Scotland, who will check what support is available. If your household is eligible, it will then be referred to Warmworks, the managing agent for Warmer Homes Scotland.
Commenting, Mr Wishart said:
“With winter fast approaching, I know many of my constituents are extremely concerned about how they will cope with rising energy costs.
“Warmer Homes Scotland helps people save money on their energy bills by installing a range of energy saving technologies. The Scottish Government is offering assistance to homeowners and private sector tenants struggling to heat their home, who have lived in their home for at least twelve months, and who meet the eligibility criteria.
“A survey of the home will be conducted to determine what improvements can be offered. I would encourage anyone with concerns about their heating costs and looking to access energy-efficiency measures to have a look and see how the scheme may benefit them.”
