Wishart highlights cost-of-living support for blind and partially sighted constituents
Pete Wishart, MP for Perth and North Perthshire, is urging blind and partially sighted constituents to make sure they are aware of the help and support available to them to identify the financial help, tax allowances and concessions they could be entitled to and give them the information and support they need to apply.
Leading sight-loss charity the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) wants to ensure that as many blind or partially sighted people become increasingly concerned about how they will make ends meet that they have the necessary support to help them.
Commenting, Mr Wishart said:
“Even before prices began to rise, one in five blind and partially sighted people said they had some, or great, difficulty in making ends meet. While times are challenging at the moment, there is a range of support and advice services available to help blind and partially sighted people from RNIB.
“I would urge anyone who thinks they might benefit, or who knows or helps care for a blind or partially sighted person to visit www.rnib.org.uk/advice or get in touch directly with the RNIB’s Sight Loss Advisers on the helpline number below.”
