Wishart submits parliamentary motion on Perth Stone of Destiny bid
Perth and North Perthshire MP, Pete Wishart, has submitted an Early Day Motion (EDM) in the House of Commons supporting the campaign to return the Stone of Destiny to Perthshire. A number of high-profile names have recently added their weight to the campaign, and it will now have its chance to gain parliamentary support.
Speaking today (5th September) Mr Wishart said:
“I was delighted to submit this Early Day Motion in the House of Commons and I will now be encouraging my Parliamentary colleagues to sign it.
“I think it is important that colleagues from across the UK get behind this campaign to ensure that the Stone of Destiny returns to Perthshire.
“It was the House of Commons that first agreed to the stone coming back to Scotland and it would be great to get its support to complete its journey back home to Perthshire.”
