WISHART GRANTED DEBATE ON PERTH CULTURAL CONTRIBUTION
Perth and North Perthshire MP, Pete Wishart, has been granted a House of Commons debate on Perth’s cultural contribution ahead of the announcement of the shortlist for UK City of Culture 2021.
Mr Wishart will lead the adjournment debate on Wednesday 5th July, entitled ‘Cultural contribution of the city of Perth to the UK’.
Commenting, Mr Wishart said:
“I am really pleased to be taking this to Westminster and to have the cultural contributions of Perth highlighted on the floor of the House of Commons.
“Such a great deal of work has already gone into the UK City of Culture bid and this is an ideal time to highlight our cultural contribution right before the announcement of the shortlisted cities.
“I know that our exciting case will go down well in the House of Commons.”
