Perth and North Perthshire MP, Pete Wishart, has visited Strathtay House Care Home for the 2017 Care Home Open Day.
Care Home Open Day is a UK wide initiative inviting care homes to open their doors to their local communities.
Thousands of care homes across the UK take part each year, welcoming the public and arranging events and activities that help to create lasting links between care home residents and their local communities.
This is all about showing people what excellent care homes are really about and how they can be at the centre of local communities, developing relationships across the generations.
Speaking today (Friday 16th June 2017) Mr Wishart said:
“I look forward to Care Home Open Day every year as it gives me a great opportunity to visit care home residents and to thank staff for the excellent job that they do. Care Home Open Day encourages people who would not otherwise need to visit a care home to visit and take part in events with residents.
“It was a real pleasure to spend time chatting to the residents and to help draw the tombola at Strathtay House.”
