WISHART WELCOMES SCONE GAS FIX

Perth and North Perthshire MP, Pete Wishart has welcomed the news that nearly all of the 1,300 properties in Scone which were left without gas, have now had the service restored.

 The issue, which was caused by an underground flood, saw more than 100 workers in the Perthshire town to try to fix the problem.

 After receiving an update from Scottish Gas Network, Mr Wishart said:

 “I am pleased to hear that this problem is very nearly fixed. I understand that it has been very stressful for people, especially losing gas supply at this time of the year.

 ‘I understand that Scottish Gas Network have had more than 100 workers trying to find and fix the fault and I would like to thank them for all their hard work.

 ‘It is my understanding that all affected households will be receiving compensation for the inconvenience”
