Perth and North Perthshire MP, Pete Wishart, is today (Thursday 16th February) calling for the British Parking Association to strike off problem parking firm Smart Parking.
Mr Wishart, who has been attempting to meet with representatives from Smart Parking since they first started trading in the city, remains unsatisfied as numerous attempts to set up a meeting have been ignored by the parking firm.
Speaking today (Thursday 16th February) Mr Wishart said:
“I was due to meet with Ben Johnson from Smart Parking at the start of the year, however this had to be postponed due to urgent business in Parliament. My office has made contact with Smart Parking on a number of occasions since then and we have been met with stony silence.
‘This is particularly infuriating as I had been looking forward to finally having a chance to discuss the many issues with parking in their facilities in Perth. I have written to the British Parking Association to ask them to intervene in this, as it is totally unacceptable that they are ignoring further requests to meet.
‘The people of Perth know all too well the attitude that Smart Parking have shown this city and it is about time that Smart Parking come and respond to the many concerns that have been raised.”
