Perth and North Perthshire MP, Pete Wishart, has welcomed the news that Perth and Kinross Councillors have approved plans for the Cross Tay Link Road.
Commenting after councillors approved the plans, Mr Wishart said:
“I am glad to see that this proposal has been approved by councillors as it will play a vital role in reducing congestion and improving air quality in Perth. I have been a longstanding supporter of a new Tay crossing in Perth.
“Events taking place at Scone Palace and Perth Racecourse see a marked increase in congestion in Bridgend and throughout the city centre. This multi-million pound project will have a real impact on people’s daily commute and play a role in reducing city centre vehicle emissions. It is vital that big events can still be staged at these locations and this project will play a real part in that.
“This, alongside a number of projects associated with the proposed Perth City Deal, signal that Perth is a growing city and is open for business.”
