Perth and North Perthshire MP, Pete Wishart has welcomed the news that two of the finalists in the yearly ‘Scotland’s Tree of the Year Awards’ are in his constituency.
The Birnam Oak and Niel Gow’s Oak are amongst the six finalists in this year’s Woodland Trust Scottish Tree of the Year Award.
Speaking after the announcement of the finalists Mr Wishart said:
“I am proud to represent Big Tree Country and I am pleased to hear that two of this year’s finalists are in Perthshire.
“I would encourage all those who would like to see the award come to Perthshire to vote online at http://www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/visiting-woods/tree-of-the-year/scotland/ for either of the Perthshire nominees.”
