WISHART WELCOMES CITY OF CULTURE LAUNCH
Perth and North Perthshire MP, Pete Wishart, attended the launch of the Perth City of Culture 2021 on Friday 19th August. Launching under the slogan ‘Perth is the Place’, the event was designed to showcase Perth as the location for music, dance, film, visual arts, architecture and more.
The event took place outside Perth City Hall at 11am.
Speaking after the launch, Mr Wishart said:
“The City of Culture bid is an excellent opportunity to showcase Perth as a prime destination for culture. Alongside the renovations at Perth Theatre, the development of the Mill Quarter and the work that is being put in to bringing the Stone of Destiny to Perth, the City of Culture would signify our commitment to cementing Perth as a cultural destination.
“We have a lively cultural scene and a whole host of cultural resources. There is absolutely no doubt that Perth is The Place and I know that the people of Perth will solidly support this bid.”
