The Scottish National Party’s Mr Pete Wishart MP, Member of Parliament for Perth & North Perthshire, has highlighted a call from Sainsbury’s who are looking for local customers to nominate a charity for their stores to support in this area. Mr Wishart said: “I know that a huge and diverse range of local organisations are always on the look out for different sources of funding and so I am pleased to help publicise Sainsbury’s search for local charities to support. “Nominations are open to all registered charities, and previous partners tell us they have benefited from both the fundraising opportunities at Sainsbury’s stores and the hard work of their staff who really get behind their chosen partner in the community. “I understand that, since the scheme launched, Sainsbury’s stores have raised over £5 million for local charities so this is a good opportunity and if you know of a local charity in Perthshire that you think will benefit from partnering with a Sainsbury’s store, you can nominate them in store or via their website before the deadline closes on Sunday 8 June. “Once the nominations are in, staff in the stores will vote so select the local charity they will fundraise and volunteer for over the next 12 months."
