T IN THE PARK STAYING IN PERTH & KINROSS
The Scottish National Party’s Mr Pete Wishart MP, Member of Parliament for Perth & North Perthshire has welcomed the news that T in the Park is to stay within Perth & Kinross with the announcement of Strathallan Castle as the new venue for the event from next summer onwards. Mr Wishart said: “T in the Park is a really important annual event in the Scottish music calendar, attracting huge numbers of visitors to Perth & Kinross and the area has really benefited economically from it since it first moved from Strathclyde Park to Balado. “As the MP for Perth I am very aware of the important role the Fair City plays as a transport hub for people coming to the festival and many of those who don’t fancy the campsite find accommodation in the city. “Perth’s bars and restaurants also gain a lot of business from visitors associated with the festival and I am really pleased that, with T in the Park forced to find a new venue, the festival is not going to be lost to the area.”
