WISHART CONGRATULATES “LOCAL HERO” ON OLYMPIC SUCCESS
The Scottish National Party’s Mr Pete Wishart MP, Member of Parliament for Perth and North Perthshire, has congratulated Eve Muirhead on leading her Women’s Curling team to a bronze Medal in the Winter Olympics at Sochi, Russia, today (Thursday).
Ms Muirhead lives in Blair Atholl and curls out of the Dunkeld Curling Club, based in Pitlochry, all in Mr Wishart’s constituency.
Speaking this afternoon, Mr Wishart said:
“Perthshire is very proud of Eve Muirhead and her achievements, she really is a local hero. I am delighted that she has added an Olympic bronze medal to her trophy cabinets and I send my heartiest congratulations to Eve and her team.
“After losing out to unbeaten Canada in a tense and hard fought semi-final, they did brilliantly well to put that disappointment behind them and rise to the occasion for victory over their Swiss opponents today.”
