The Scottish National Party’s Mr Pete Wishart MP, Member of Parliament for Perth & North Perthshire, has issued a last minute reminder to local folk of the closing date for nominations as the search for up to 4,000 inspirational people to be Scotland’s baton bearers for the Glasgow 2014 Queen’s Baton Relay comes to an end.
“Five o’clock this Friday signals the closing of nominations for baton bearers to take part in the relay which will herald the approach of the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Scotland.
“I have no doubt that there are many worthy people in my constituency and I want to take the opportunity to remind people that if they want to nominate someone, they have to do it now.
“Potential baton bearers might volunteer for a cause close to their hearts, coach a local sports club or just be good role models. If you know someone who fits the bill, all you have to do is go online at www.glasgow2014.com . click through to the Queen’s Baton Relay nomination page and fill in a short form.”
