The Scottish National party's Mr Pete Wishart MP, Member of Parliament for Perth & North Perthshire, has welcomed news that the six week period for Grundon to lodge an appeal against the decision of Scottish Ministers to refuse planning consent for their proposed incinerator at Perth's Shore Road has now passed.
Speaking today (Monday) Mr Wishart said:
"Having opposed this proposal every step of the way I angry pleased indeed to learn that the deadline has passed without any further appeal from Grundon.
"There will be a collective sigh of relief right across Perth at the news that Grundons appear, at last, to have accepted the clearly expressed will of the people of Perth regarding their proposed incinerator.
"I understand that the planning permission, which was initially granted in principle, has now lapsed and so it seems that we can now say that this saga is now at an end which really is fantastic news indeed."
