PERTH POLITICIANS MEETING WITH AVIVA “UPBEAT AND POSITIVE”
The Scottish National Party’s Ms Roseanna Cunningham MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for Perthshire South & Kinross-shire, and Mr Pete Wishart MP, Member of Parliament for Perth & North Perthshire, met this afternoon [Friday] with senior management of Aviva, the insurance giant with a significant presence in Perth.
Speaking following the meeting, Ms Cunningham said:
“After this morning’s great news about Aviva purchasing the Pitheavlis site, we had a very upbeat and positive meeting this afternoon.
“It was good to meet Mark Wilson, the new CEO, and also Robin Spencer, Chief Executive for UK & Ireland General Insurance. Their commitment to Perth and to the future of the company was clear and vocal. All the staff we met were in buoyant mood.”
Mr Wishart added:
“Roseanna and I had a wide ranging and useful discussion with Mark Wilson and Robin Spencer and we were both were very comfortable with everything we were hearing from them.
“Perth has a long connection with the insurance industry and I am confident that Aviva and the people of Perth are going to be in partnership for a long time to come.”
