WISHART GIVES PRAISE AND BACKING TO PERTH & KINROSS CREDIT UNION PROJECT
Following a visit today (Friday) to the Perth & Kinross Credit Union Project, the Scottish National Party’s Mr Pete Wishart MP, Member of Parliament for Perth & North Perthshire, has expressed his support, saying:
“There has been a substantial level of support from the local Council and from individual potential investors from across the area for the proposal to set up a local Credit Union in Perth and Kinross.
“I think that this is a fantastic initiative which will enable local folk to access financially affordable credit at a time when it can be extremely difficult to secure loans from traditional banking outlets and when we see the worrying rise of high interest ‘payday loan’ companies.
“This project has my complete backing and I look forward to hearing that Financial Services Authority validation has been successfully granted and that the Perth & Kinross Credit Union can start to provide the people of Perthshire with this progressive option for their saving and borrowing needs.”
