WISHART URGES “CAUTION AND VIGILANCE” AS POLICE SEARCH FOR MISSING PRISONER

The Scottish National Party’s Mr Pete Wishart MP, Member of Parliament for Perth & North Perthshire, has urged constituents to be “exercise caution and vigilance” as Tayside Police continue to search for a suspicious male seen on the outskirts of Perth, believed to be a convicted robber who has absconded from an open prison in Lincolnshire.

Mr Wishart said:

“I know that the reports that this man, jailed for a violent crime, may be on the loose in Perthshire will be causing a great deal of concern, particularly in those areas seeing a great deal of police activity.

“I would urge everybody to exercise caution and vigilance while the police continue their efforts to locate this individual.  If anyone should see anything suspicious they should report it to the police immediately and in no way consider approaching him.”
