The Scottish National Party’s Ms Roseanna Cunningham MSP, Member of the Scottish Parliament for Perthshire South & Kinross-shire, and Mr Pete Wishart MP, Member of Parliament for Perth & North Perthshire have welcomed the announcement of lottery funding for a range of organisations from across their constituencies. Speaking this afternoon (Tuesday) Ms Cunningham said: “I am glad to see groups within my constituency continuing to benefit from lottery funding. These are all significant sums of money which will be put to work either providing improvements to facilities that will benefit the local community, help to develop a sense of community spirit or invest in the future. “I am particularly pleased, as a Crieff resident, to learn that the Crieff Community Trust Steering Group has received nearly £10,000. The Community Trust model has been pioneered by our neighbours in Comrie and is proving to be a great success and one that properly adapted could provide us with a route for genuinely community-driven local development.” Mr Wishart added: “Well done to all of those groups in Perth & North Perthshire who have been successful in securing lottery funding for such a wide range of projects and activities, some for one-off events, others for more long-lasting projects. “The projects planned by Perth & Kinross Council’s Culture and Community Services and the YMCA, in particular, are both interesting projects aimed at providing local young people with the skills and confidence that will help them to build a positive future for themselves.”
